Trump Sends Peace Plan to Iran Amid Rising Tensions
U.S. President Donald Trump has sent a peace proposal to Iran, expressing optimism about ending nearly a month of conflict. Meanwhile, Tehran has announced that it will allow “non-hostile” oil vessels to pass through the strategically important Strait of Hormuz, easing global concerns over oil supply disruptions.
Trump stated that recent developments signaled progress, calling them a “very big present” and indicating that negotiations were moving in a positive direction. Following this development, Brent crude oil prices dropped by nearly six percent, reflecting market optimism.
Drone Attack Hits Kuwait Airport
At the same time, tensions escalated in the region as drones struck a fuel tank at Kuwait International Airport. The attack triggered a fire, according to Kuwait’s civil aviation authority.
Officials confirmed that the damage remained limited and reported no casualties. Emergency teams quickly responded, and firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control. Authorities also stated that they immediately activated emergency protocols to handle the situation.
Israeli Strikes in Lebanon Claim Lives
Meanwhile, violence continued in Lebanon, where Israeli strikes killed at least nine people in southern regions. According to official reports, four people died in a strike on the town of Adloun, while two others lost their lives in an attack on an apartment in the Mieh Mieh refugee camp. Several others were injured in the incidents.
The ongoing strikes come amid escalating tensions between Israel, Hezbollah, and regional actors, further intensifying the conflict.
Rising Uncertainty in the Region
Overall, the situation in the Middle East remains highly volatile. While diplomatic efforts, including Trump’s peace plan, offer a possible path toward de-escalation, continued attacks highlight the fragile nature of the region’s security.
