Stock Market Opens Higher Today; Sensex, Nifty Gain Amid US-Iran Optimism
Indian stock markets continued their upward momentum on Wednesday, opening in the green after a strong session on Tuesday. The positive start comes as investor sentiment improves due to easing global tensions.
Market confidence strengthened after Donald Trump announced a five-day pause on strikes targeting Iranian energy sites. Additionally, reports of ongoing talks between the United States and Iran further boosted optimism among investors.
At around 9:18 AM, the Nifty50 rose by 251.25 points, gaining 1.10% to reach 23,163.65. Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex climbed 730.64 points or 0.99%, trading at 74,778.51.
However, despite the strong performance in equities, the Indian rupee opened slightly weaker. It slipped by 6 paise to 93.94 against the US dollar on Wednesday, compared to its previous close of 93.87 per dollar.
