Ghaziabad Apartment Fire: Massive Blaze at Gaur Green Avenue Sparks Panic, 10 Flats Destroyed
A massive fire broke out at Gaur Green Avenue Society in Indirapuram, sending shockwaves across Ghaziabad on Wednesday morning. Initially, the blaze appeared contained; however, it quickly escalated into a major emergency, leaving residents terrified and triggering a large-scale rescue operation.
Fire Brought Under Control After Hours of Effort
After several hours of relentless efforts, the Fire Department finally managed to bring the blaze under control. Importantly, no casualties have been reported. Moreover, all trapped residents were safely evacuated, preventing a potential tragedy.
Meanwhile, medical teams from the state health department were deployed at the site. As a result, first aid camps were set up to treat those who suffered minor injuries or distress during the chaos.
Fire Originated on Eighth Floor, Spread Rapidly
According to initial reports, the fire started on the eighth floor of the 13-storey building. Within minutes, it intensified rapidly and turned into a fierce inferno. Consequently, thick plumes of smoke were seen rising from the structure, with commuters capturing visuals that soon spread across social media.
Rescue Operations Faced Initial Challenges
At first, the society management acted swiftly by evacuating several residents and alerting the Fire Department. However, eyewitnesses stated that the first fire engine struggled to reach the eighth floor, causing a brief delay.
Subsequently, a hydraulic fire engine was brought in from Noida, which significantly improved the firefighting response. In addition, Chief Fire Officer Rahul Pal confirmed that teams were continuously working to control the situation.
Residents and Locals Joined Rescue Efforts
Interestingly, residents and committee members from nearby buildings also stepped in to help. In fact, some individuals climbed adjacent structures and used water pipes to assist in controlling the flames. Thus, community support played a crucial role during the emergency.
Panic Grips Residents as Power Supply Cut
As a precaution, electricity supply to the entire complex was cut off. Consequently, elevators stopped functioning, leaving several residents stranded. At the same time, people trapped on upper floors were heard crying out for help, creating an atmosphere of fear and chaos.
Extent of Damage and Ongoing Investigation
Currently, around 10 flats are believed to have been severely damaged or completely gutted. Meanwhile, authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire. Until then, officials continue to assess the full extent of the damage.
